The new Edinburgh Datacentre opened in 2009. It’s built to high Tier 3 specs, is a standalone, and offers the full ISO 27001 information security accreditation. This is one of Scotland’s larger data centres with ability to host 800 racks + over two floors, with additional smaller private suites.
The power to this Tier 3 standard facility is planned so there is not one single point of failure. The facility is fully secure with each rack position supplied with Dual 32Amp sockets that are connected to a separate PDU and connecting to a static switch. All static switches connect to two UPS’s, which gives it dual feed supply. Three USP’s cover all functions of this technical system. The centre is spread across 2 floors which total 31,000 Ft², giving the ground floor 27,000 Ft² and the first floor has 4000 Ft². The ground floor is made up of 6 Data Halls, all having customer work areas.
